Hopefully this one finally catches up to Lewton. He guided a friend of mine the year after FWP did their sting operation. My friend ended up getting a trespassing ticket because Lewton took them across private land.

Probably the same guy you're thinking of. He's a well-known sheep guide. Same guy that FWP tried to catch in the sting operation that went wrong in 2010.

I was at a fly in over in the breaks one year and landed on a piece of BLM (legally) and was greeted by a very heated landowner that proceeded to accuse me of previously landing on his property and picking up sheds. After a conversation, we came to the conclusion that I was not the person he was looking for. Got back to town and was talking to other pilots over dinner that night and the one guy says "oh ya, he probly thought you were me." I just cant for the life of me remember his name.

I see he still has an active outfitter license. I think that says more about MOGA than i can write or their lobbyist can lie about.

All about protecting/subsidizing their business - absolutely doing "nothing" is laughable, pathetic, and sheds plenty of light on the fact that its not a "trade" with ethical standards for public good - like every other regulated licensing board.



To be clear - i dont know the man, but if a board of nursing, accounting, engineering, etc were to observe this behavior losing licensure would be near gauranteed the result, published reprimand and suspending for a time would be the absolute floor. The opinion is objective.

MOGA isn’t a licensing board. They’re a private trade and industry group. A comparison for engineers would be the ASCE vs the DLIBS PELS
