It's cool to see a restaurant like this do well in an area that always gets bagged on when it comes to hunting. Yes, some of the criticism is deserved, but what's more important is that those seeking an adventure and an experience with food far outnumber the wing nuts. This place had character and style that catered to just about everyone that eats meat and enjoys food. There were a couple of moments when I thought I was at the Wise River Inn or any other remote watering hole in a remote spot in the intermountain west. It's awesome to see this vibe in San Francisco.
Looks like the founder, Josh Skenes, is a hunter and angler and is sourcing most/all of the meat from his own ranch. I like the Sitka hat he is wearing in his bio pic.
