Whats on the menu for the holidays?

I’m sure the main dishes will be ham, maybe some homemade ravioli. I’m looking forward to the mincemeat pie and apple dumplings myself.

My FIL makes a giant exotic cheese tray with a bunch of good cheeses. I plow through that Christmas Eve and am pretty full with that and whatever the Brew is for the evening.

We usually have stroganoff, but this year the kids asked for just a roast, potato's and carrots. Nice and simple...

For a different perspective, we are in summer here in New Zealand and I plan to BBQ venison most nights during my two week summer break.

Early summer stags are the target this time of year and I’ve shot two in two weeks, which I shared out to family and friends for their bbq’s.

we started doing beef loin steaks about 10 years ago
go buy a USDA Prime whole loin, trim, cut steaks, chow on the best beef we will have in the year
I use the trimmings when I make summer sausage from venison
melt in your mouth goodness

and all kinds of sides I expect

this year I am also cooking some game on the grill - just so the city slicker family members can try if they want

You must be a good cook

Ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, beets, dressing, beans, home made pies at the in-law's.

Crab legs, chedder biscuits, shrimp, seafood bisque at home for the two if us.

Christmas Eve might be stuffed back straps and stuffed mushrooms I’m thinking. I think one of the Xmas supper on the one side of the family I have been requested for a fish fry
