What are you guys paying for gas?

You know I've been going over a lot of things with gas prices trying to do some figuring for our budget. The extra $1 or whatever it may be for gas that we put in our personal vehichles isnt as bad as we think at the end of the year. ( its still a lot more but not as much as I thought annually anyway) and I drive a shit load. Its the price of fuel that we put in our vehichles combined with everything else that goes up with it as a side effect.

Correct. I can handle a short term, 1 month spike or extra trip. This is getting ridiculous.

We do our budget basically starting the last couple days of the previous month when my pension comes in. Gas was $4.15 or so mid August when we put the budget together. Based the gas budget off that as things seemed relatively stable, and added about $20 extra for a cushion. Plus planning for my (now complete) deer hunt.

As my hunt was going, (started the 10th), I was beginning to realize I may only get that weekend, plus a couple local days for a 25 day hunt, and lots of days off. Killed a buck so no big deal there.

Just today gas crossed $5.

Thats an extra $55 we have to figure out in the next two weeks or so.

Cut one trip to town (60 miles one way). And I won't likely get my pickup filled up until late October at today's prices due to a couple extra trips we need to do next month. And that includes cutting going to church every Sunday in that same town.

Im not optimistic to see what animal feed looks like for the next land, and how bad it will be in the spring as the stuff that is being harvested right now is getting cut with $6.00 diesel.

Side note for a non fuel thing then I'll drop it for now. I bought a small piece of steel from a supplier through Amazon for $22.99 in June. I bought another of the exact same item at the end of August for an identical item. $31.73.

Take care all.
