Ok moosie you seem to be a land lord , We live in appartment where the people up stairs are always yelling. They got no controll over there kid.And this goes on for hours . some time threw the night we are woke up by the couple fighting. Now we live here for years and they just move in 6 months ago. What are our rights in this matter. And yes we done most every thing possible.Call the landlord several times, wife go up there once. And we are looking for our own place as well. But un the mean time we need our RR time.I love kids but not the one that have not been teach the right from wrong. But then again if he see his parent fighting then he is not learning nothing *LOL*. Anyone got any ideas on this subject.I guess tomorrow I will find out what the curfew is as far as noise. We got a system on the doors so if the police was call then we had to buzz them in.I wish we found a place by now so we can get out of here.ANYONE have any input then lets have it.

get a nasty gay porn movie,

make sure the speakers point right up stairs to there place, turn it on very loud and go out for a few hours.

I figure after a few days of this you will 1 either have gotten them to quit up or 2 have a line of fags at your door waiting to be next, If the later is the case make sure you point them to you loud neighbors.

You know there is always the survival section to post this in as well, I am sure one of the moderators in there would have some good sound advice ;)

well that is a good idea, but they might just come down and be there when we get home.Or in my case the landlord be there with paper work for us to move out instead *Laff*

Problem is there is I'm guessign thee is a Noise ordanance only enforced if the Owner makes the call. Not much that I know of that can stop them. I would do a Couple of things. first, I would confront the Issue. Tell them welcome to the Building and not Shut the Fugg up. If they don't comply you should mnake their lives more miserable then what they make yours. find out were their Air Intake is on the Air conditioner and Put stinky stufff there , and Randomly at 3 in the morning return the favor of being loud. make sure no kids are in your place and turn the music up real loud for about 45 seconds. Then shut it all down, turn off the lights and if the Cops come by deny it..... then when the cops leave do it again :) Then knock on the neighbors doors and ask if they want to keep playing games or if you can call a truce ;)

Seriously though, I don't own any Multi Family places. I have 7 houses but they are in Subdivisions. LEt me know what you find out, I might be looking into some Duplex's soon :D

Trent we just left a situation similar to yours. However we were the ones warned by the owner to quiet down. It seems the other people have rented from them for years while we were newbies. The local LEO's told us they had numerous complaints about the other people and it really only ever caused problems for the ones complaining.
We solved the problem by moving. We did not have a signed lease luckily at that time so we found a place and told the owner 4 days before we were out. LOL we only found the other place a few days before that.

So yep Moving is basically your only option...if your landlord is a putz. If you have a signed lease you might be able to break it because of the landlord not maintaining your safety....or something like that. Get a lawyer consultation and see.

Call the police, buzz them in, and let them listen to it. Disturbing the peace is disturbing the peace. Once the cops get there and find the child is up at all hours of the night, they may threaten them with DYFS. Might help but probably not.

LMAO Delw :D ...but the survival section will only work for him if there are rocks in his apartment.....course he could dig a pit in the entrance and catch the fuggers.....

Basically what the others said is true Trent, I used to manage a couple of four-plexes (NEVER will again) and "noise" problems are a bitch to come to a resolution on. Best bet is to giddyup on out of there......

well we are going to get our own house, but we are waiting for the right place to come up on the market. in the mean time we need to sleep to keep focus on our jobs. I know if I for some reason loose my job over being sleep deprid then the landlord going to make me a happy camper cause I will take it to court.
