What will the USA be called when our grandkids graduate from college?

United States of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of China.
As a country, we are running towards max on our credit card and China is one of the countries holding a chunk of the debt. Middle East has a chunk of our debt, too. I do not get a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing we borrow money from countries not in sync with our idea of freedom to turn around and buy goods and oil from the same places.
When the credit card hits max limit, it will be on to Pay day loans. I assume Taiwan will be one of the first things we put up as collateral.
I emailed the principal, and got this response:
Thank you for your email. We regret that you feel our recent decision regarding My Country Monday was not patriotic. This could not be further from the truth. The original intent of Spirit Week at Fort Collins High School was to unify the student body.
When students first proposed Merica Monday, we felt that it was against this unifying theme and disrespectful to our country. Merica is a slang term that is often used in a negative stereotypical way to describe life in the United States. This is what led us to discuss alternatives with students.
We were surprised that our community interpreted our actions as anti-American. We are a proud public school in America and support many activities to celebrate our great nation. Due to this outpouring of sentiment and misinterpretation of our intentions, we have decided to rename the first day of our Spirit Week America Day as opposed to Merica Day.
We look forward to enjoying the creativity and energy of our students as they celebrate their patriotism next week.

That's interesting. I didn't get a reply to my e-mail. So either the news report was a lie or grossly misrepresentative of the facts……...or the principal is trying to save face. I would guess it's the later. Either way, the kids won and are having America Day! It's a win in a fight that should't have to be fought.

There is no false reporting or misinterpretation! It was top down .... 'this is what you will not do' (not knowing their a$$ from a whole in the ground, let alone what Merica stood for or didn't.)
Folks like this don't want Amercia celebrated period. They do not like work. They do not like rules, they make their own - like executive order. This is exactly what this was.
Sadly, we don't do much of anything that's American anymore : Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, hats off - respsect, celebrate Christmas, dress up for Halloween, fireworks on the 4th of July!, ask farmerbrown or land owner to walk his land without paying a grand, man.
Monday should be interesting
