Wanna Get Pinged

Windows are expensive. I had an issue with the UV coating on the windows in my house failing. Luckily I had a lifetime warranty. mtmuley
If i had went with pella it would have been 1/3 of what I paid for the house. Literally. I went to the local lumber supply store and got anderson windows at a decent price. And i'm learning to do the install myself. Still almost thirty grand in glass.

Yep. It can be extreme. Current project that I am on has 1.3 million in windows. Not a commercial building either. Residential. mtmuley

If you can Ken I'd suggest taking your measurements and pricing windows u ourself. Then seeing if you can find an installer separately. From all the shopping around I did most guys are marking up the window big time on you. I saved a lot that way, like $20k. (I paid someone to install the first ten). Now I'm doing the rest. (So far anyway).

It isn't just windows, replaced my front door last week, double sidelight unit. We picked out the one we liked the best to start and just about choked on the price. What we settled on is still a nice door, but way past what I would consider reasonable for one. Guess I'm getting to be a grumpy old man earlier than expected.

Wish I was closer. I work for beer. mtmuley

Replaced 11 mobilehome windows this year.
Anderson wanted $35k. Pella $32k. Distance from shop. Pricey.
I went with NM ma & pa shop and got them for $14k installed. One day. Made a big difference in heat and cooling this summer.

I used to build windows and doors for my homes and several customers. Can't come close in just materials.
I'll install Lowes doors next year myself. Buying soon while I can still get them.
