Wow. I thought some people were being over dramatic about the point creep thing for this year but I guess they were right. I had 11 deer points and my son had 12. Unit we wanted showed historically anything over 9 was a lock. Checked Go Hunt "predictive odds" and even that said anything over 10 would be a lock. So like a dum ass I didn't even bother applying as a party. He got it and I didn't. Now I'm gonna have to turn his tag in and try again next year.

Why not hunt it together with your sons tag this year and get the intel to then hunt it even better when you should draw it next year?

I predict there will be a lot of disappointed folks like yourself planning a hunt off of Gohunts predictive odds.
The funny thing is how confident they were out of the gate with 95% confidence. Little do they realize that adding predictive odds creates a new variable that has to be accounted for when predicting the odds.

Gohunt predicted the elk tag I drew in Wyoming with 8 points this year would have 4% odds to draw with 8. I could tell looking at the past app numbers that couldn’t be right. We applied as a group of 4 and drew it with 8. I want to think those predictive odds from GoHunt actually pushed people at our point level away from applying.

Brandon was respectful and we had a productive conversation. Although I strongly disagree, Chris porter got reactive and hostile to the idea of Predictive odds not working.
