So the US Supreme Court has ruled that you have the right to protest military funerals.
I invite you to start your protest in my front yard ...
and we'll see if your First Amendment right is better than my Second Amendment right.

If someone protested my little brother's funeral we would have a problem.

While I do believe in the freedom of speech, I cannot fathom somebody protesting at a funeral. Complete and utter lack of respect. Even more so when you consider our troops are dying to protect our rights???? This country needs a serious wake up.

Anti-gay church's right to protest at military funerals is upheld
A Kansas church that attracted nationwide attention for its angry, anti-gay protests at the funerals of U.S. military members has won its appeal at the Supreme Court, an issue testing the competing constitutional rights of free speech and privacy.

The justices, by an 8-1 vote, said Wednesday that members of Westboro Baptist Church had a right to promote what they call a broad-based message on public matters such as wars. The father of a fallen Marine had sued the small church, saying those protests amounted to targeted harassment and an intentional infliction of emotional distress.

After being cussed at and spit on as I proudly strutted throught the SeaTac airport wearing my Army Khaki uniform with shiny shoes and aviator wings upon return from VietNam, it doesn't surprise me that these jack-wagons have so highly elevated their sick attitude and lack of appreciation about the cost of freedom. Even with that, take pride that our freedom is large enough to take the bad with the good.
God bless those fallen military men and women ... and keep their families strong and embraced with love during their grief.

Thank God and folks like you hunt-talkers that I don't run into those idiots when in the woods with bow or rifle in hand.

...well said sir..

I think if any dispatcher worth their salt got a 911 call about some protesters at a military funeral getting beat down by the people attending the funeral, they would have a real hard time finding units to respond in a timely manner. If you know what I mean

First amendment rights? What about the rights of the families of the deceased to be able to humbly pay their respects? This makes me sick. God bless all those who have served in the military and continue to do so. I hope something like this never happens to you or any of your loved ones.

This kind of crap just turns my stomach. WTF are these idiots thinking?

One thing and one thing only, and if you think their protests are about God, queers and military you are very wrong. They are a group of lawyers looking to sue anybody they can over their 1st amendment right to protest. Bottom line is the almighty dollar, not the almighty God. Protesting soldiers funerals gets them exposure and brings justified outrage.
