Two tikka 22-250s cut to 17” and threaded. One will be for day calling and one for night calling Top one I have load data for already when it was a 22” barrel. What do you guys think my velocity loss is going to be?

Lost 137fps. I’ll take that. Shooting a 52grain hornady hp at 3681fps right now. Will see what the thermal rifle does when the thermal shows up. Might try some hammers in my daytime calling rifle

Anymore I’m leaning to shorter and shorter barrels. Thought about having it ackleyed when I had it over there to cut the barrel down but didn’t. Would have almost made up for the velocity loss

I only lost 124fps going from a 22" to a 16" in my 260rem, I couldn't believe it. Granted I am shooting absolute hammers and faster powder, but still I was expecting much greater difference. Super jealous of your Tikkas, looking great.
