Half the time they hit the ground and muddle around a bit before they go somewhere to strut.

I’ve killed a lot of turkeys that pitch down from the roost and come right in but it seems like if I hear one gobble after 9 am it’s game on. The 2 I killed this year were at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm.

Went out first time this morning. Figured I woke up an hour too late as it was starting to get light already. Piss poor planning---

I’ve had great luck after they get done with the morning feed.

Used .410 TSS #9 with a Red Dot first time this year and was impressed as hell! Right shoulder failing so decided to give it a go. Called in a Tom from long ways in wind with custom box call that was retirement gift in 2012. Haven't used it much, wife liked it as decoration. Decided to give it a run and sure was sweet music! Tom followed script perfectly and walked out into clover plot that was just cleared up. Stoned him at 38yds and never flopped a wing! Recoil nonexistent. Yeah I know shooting at animal blah blah blah. My shoulder says otherwise with 3" Turkey loads.
