The picture on the left was from 9 years ago with my buddy Max. The picture on the right was today with my buddy Hattie at the same spot. Maxxy lost his battle with heart disease 2 weeks before his 10 birthday. He was lucky and hunted right up to the end. I used 10 of his heart medicine pill bottles for his ashes. I thought of his 10 favorite places to hunt and spread his ashes at each one. This was the last place. Oh boy, it is getting hard to see my phone. It felt the same today, cold crisp mountain air, then around 11 it was good to get back to the truck as it was heating up. Hattie getting birdy, just like Max and you knew something exciting was going to happen. Hug your bird dog today for me.
