Sometimes I think I've done well on pronghorn. Now all I have to do is look at this and Buzz's pictures to humble myself. Unbelievable amount of great bucks.

What's the story on the elk shoulder mount? I don't think I recognize him.

I shot him in 2012. Put replicas of the horns on the shoulder mount and the real horns are on the European.

Passinthru, thanks for the compliments on my sheep mounts. Answer to your question is that the wide flaring ram came from the Nutzotin Mountains, adjacent to the north/east edge of the Wrangells. This ram is one of my prized trophies and a great example of why a guy doesn't want to get all caught up in measurements and score. This ram scores somewhere in the 150's. I honestly don't remember what it scored. I didn't shoot it because of it's scoring qualities. I shot it because of how cool he looks with the wide (32") flaring, more than full curl look. The picture below will give you an idea of how shallow his curl is and how slight his bases and subsequent mass are. His horns are each a hair shy of 38" and his bases are less than 13". By comparison, the other dall ram in my trophy room, which I took in 1976 when 7/8 curl was legal in Alaska, Scored 160". He is a ram that would have been a "booner" in a couple more years. His bases are 14 5/8" with 37" horns and only 6-years old. He was taken from the same general area as the wide flaring ram.

Rifle is a pre-64 model-70 264 Magnum with a 26" barrel.
