We heard some racket inside of my friends machine shed one day while working at the sprayer. It was back in a corner and we actually started out thinking it was a person hiding out. To our surprise it was a doe that had obviously been hit by a car. She was dazed and confused but still managed to elude us amongst the hay bales and equipment. After a fair amount of time I was able to get my hands on her hips and started pushing her to the door. She had multiple deep cuts and a bloody nose. At this point I figured she was whipped and it would be fine. I picked her up like a calf and carried her to the door. My buddy thought it would be good to move his truck from the door at the same time. It scared her and she jumped in the air. She got traction off my stomach on the first jump and then off my face for the second jump. She must've been ten feet in the air when she came back down on me. Luckily we both rolled outside and she made it into a little stand of trees. She stayed there for about an hour and then we saw her up and feeding. I think I felt worse than she did and she had been hit by a car.

There is some horses by one of my hunting spots that crossed a river from a reservation and have become wild. They breed and alot of the horses were born in the wild and never been domesticated. One of the older horses is a large white mare. In January of 2018 i was shed hunting and come across her and her colt. The Mares front leg was dangling from the knee down and she was skin and bones. She could not dig thru the snow to get food. Well Hunting season rolled around in september and i was in my treestand and along came that white mare. The leg that was dangling fused itself around a 45 degree angle and she was using it although be it with a limp. She was fat and healthy just not real fast. I thought for sure she would starve in the winter. But she is still going strong now a year later as i saw her yesterday while shed hunting.
