Howdy all don’t know if anyone will remember me. Started here when I was living in Thailand. Moved back to the States 17 years ago, then to South Africa and been in Saudi Arabia for the past 6 years. Many countries hunted since the old Fireside and days of the original gathering. Look forward to coming back to connect with old friends and new. Share some new stories around the campfire and to share adventures from Africa, Kazakhstan, Russia, New New Zealand hunts, hunts across Europe and other places since the old days of Thumpers swamp. Although I do have and still call Louisiana home again also call Costa Rica and Limpopo South Africa home. 7 more years till I retire to run fishing charters out of Louisiana and Costa Rica and surprise to all the old members outfit in Arizona with Cuz AKA Bcat Doug Boykin. Yup he and I still hunt and fish together. From Alaska to Louisiana and now Arizona. Great to be back and see who remembers me?

I think only a few still here have been around long enough to remember Thumper.

Welcome back. If have time, post some pictures of the adventures. Winter here in the States makes us a bit crazy and prone to fly off the handle. Some stories and pictures is a nice distraction for a few weeks and then turkey season will be here.

Glad to see things are far move ... civil here now a days😎 glad to get share some adventures since the old days, post a few critter pictures and get sound advice.

Inshore and close offshore for speckle trout, redfish and flounder. Usually out of camp at 0500 and generally have limits by noon to 1400. If the client wishes we will go hit sheepshead. Great eating and no limit. Generally pick up Spanish mackerel but focus is on trout and slot reds. Louisiana has a great allowance. 25 trout, 5 redfish or red drums. 10 flounder per person per day. I can say that in the last 10 years I have never been skunked. I generally only need to hit 3 or four spots to limit out. Carry 3 clients on my boat but we are allowed a 4 person limit. Generally I only have to move is when the monster reds or shark move in and push out the trout. Here are a few pictures from last summer. One is my if my father and the last trip we took before he died. Now you have my attention! What time of year is best? Thinking the fam-damily would enjoy it!

To be honest we do that year around. However during December till February it slows a bit and the trout are not as big but we stay on them. In the Winter we also just load the boat with shepherd until folks are just worn out. Many people turn their noses up at a sheep head as the are not a game fish and are harder to clean for folks that don’t know how to get the fillets. To me I love that nice flaky white meat. I like it better than trout. Most folks never know the difference when it come to eating them. Some folks just don’t like fooling with something that is hardee to clean unless you know the belly cut trick
