A word on procrastination....
When it comes to tuning your bow, don't wait.
Doing what I did flirts the line between lazy and stupid. One owes it to the animal to at least be shooting well, at whatever range you limit yourself.
Besides my progressive lenses, astigmatism, tennis elbows, lapsed form, and weakened muscles - which would otherwise explain larger than optimal grouping - I have been getting poor arrow flight and have been in denial on the need to tinker. With a week left, I had to grow up for a minute and work on the bow. I have been spending two afternoons going back to the drawing board, or in this case draw board. Cams out of sync, ATA off, centershot tweaked. Rest too high. I don't know how a year has put the bow so out of whack - stretch and getting knocked around I guess, but I likely did not have it rock solid last year either. At least the arrows flew straight then. This year I am getting little corkscrews.
Thank god I have the press, draw board, arrow saw and other supplies. THAT pre-planning has yielded dividends. I'm closing in on a better tune. I'm not going to get it remotely perfect. But "Cs get degrees."
So I am still trending a little high/right (but also two bullet holes and one high left - bad form??) even going with the rest set a little too high and out, and tophats switched. It's better but definitely not 100%. Is what is is at this point. My hunting arrows keep full-size vanes for a reason.
