Back when I was a kid a group of us flew to Zurich and then skied at Zermatt. I recall drinking a few beers out of similar steins. We started in Germany driving View attachment 412162, Austria for a few daysView attachment 412157, week in Italy View attachment 412161and Switzerland now.View attachment 412160
I would have guessed young Billy on that one. Bases look thick.Bad hair day.
A nanny rocky mountain goat. Nannies shed their winter coat later than the billies and this one still has remnants of her long winter coat. The winter hair on her head gives the illusion that her horns are not square on the top of her head.

This was a cool experience for me. I was set up on a swift fox den with my 500mm, but since I had a second body I thought I would try something different as well. I put a 24-120mm on my Z8 and placed it in some grass near the burrow and set it up in auto capture (very expensive game camera). After a couple hours of waiting while be swarmed by mosquitoes, the female made an appearance. She gave just two or three seconds before called the pups up and went to the taller grass for the hand off, but I got a few good shots. I had my fingers crossed that the second camera might have gotten her in frame as well. l was pleasantly surprised with the results. First shot is at 500mm off the tripod and the second was at 31mm. I was lucky enough to capture her with a sweet thunderhead in the background. The original angle was a dull dark sky and I had moved it maybe 15-20 minutes before she arrived as I noticed the cloud irrupting. These two shots were taken at nearly the same moment. Fun afternoon.
