Ole Beck - immigrated from Sweden to Polson, Montana at 10 years of age. Died of diphtheria in France. Has a VFW post named after him.

Gerald Diettert - brother of Eldon Diettert, who at the age of 19 died in the fire at Mann Gulch. Gerald was really active in his community. Wrote a book on George Bird Grinnell, as well as another on the history of the Boy Scouts.

Stryder Stoutenburg - born the same year as myself, except in 2003 when he passed, I was a clueless POS doing nothing and he was serving his country. Died in a helicopter accident at Fort Drum. RIP.

I grew up next door to the cemetery, but haven't been through there in a long time.

When the War ended and my Granddad got home from Europe, he wanted to build a house. He went over and took enough boards from the internment barracks to build the house that I grew up in.

Such a nervous wait. I’ve had to stick more than a couple into the freezer to break them loose.

I grew up near a reservoir that was loaded with crappie. I took that for granted and miss being able to enjoy those fillets now.

Crappie, chicken tenders, livers, gizzards, fried potatoes, okra, and coleslaw. 4 hrs frying time @ different temps & replacing peanut oil.

Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad, so the song goes. The 7mm AI is in the freezer. If I would have gotten sporty, I likely could have got it but I don't trust my herculean-like strength. The other two popped out with some encouragement. I doubt I'll use carnuba wax again as a release agent.

Update: 3 hours in the freezer & it popped right out.
