While in Missoula for sports, I did the thing my family perpetually mocks me for and walked through the cemetery, taking pictures and googling names.

Ole Beck - immigrated from Sweden to Polson, Montana at 10 years of age. Died of diphtheria in France. Has a VFW post named after him.

Gerald Diettert - brother of Eldon Diettert, who at the age of 19 died in the fire at Mann Gulch. Gerald was really active in his community. Wrote a book on George Bird Grinnell, as well as another on the history of the Boy Scouts.

Stryder Stoutenburg - born the same year as myself, except in 2003 when he passed, I was a clueless POS doing nothing and he was serving his country. Died in a helicopter accident at Fort Drum. RIP.

Crappie, chicken tenders, livers, gizzards, fried potatoes, okra, and coleslaw. 4 hrs frying time @ different temps & replacing peanut oil.I grew up near a reservoir that was loaded with crappie. I took that for granted and miss being able to enjoy those fillets now.
