Tough to find here anymore. Most of my logs are cabled up from the downhill side. mtmuleyBesides easy loading firewood logs are hard to find around the Gallatin anymore.

You guys are lucky in a way to have lighter wood. Our Valley Oak is heavier than hell but burns a long time. The dry wood is death on chains and literally explodes at times with my hydraulic splitter.Don't let the old man in! Clint Eastwood
At 80, the log truck guy brings long logs for me to cut to senior size for splitting and stacking. Way ahead early summer with over seven cords split and stacked in the shed.
I wore my old '77 Ford pickup out hauling logs out of the woods. Besides easy loading firewood logs are hard to find around the Gallatin anymore.

Its therapeutic that's for sure. Especially on a cold winter day imo.I’ve always enjoyed splitting and stacking firewood. Never done the quantity you fellas deal with, but still enjoy it.
