It has been well over a decade since I have seen one of these in the wild. Maybe two decades. This one was truly in the wild in the last place I would ever expect it.View attachment 381973

We still have one in the state park that I work in. Phone service is bad and because of that and it's required by law to have one.

Reminds me of a story a coworker told me once about when him and his brother were kids and they would call their mom collect from a pay phone in town. Operator - You have a collect call from: “PICKUSUPATLOAFNJUG!”

I know someone who used to do something like that when he was in college to let his mom and dad know he made it out of the woods safely.

Thanks! We started doing that when the boys were just little glorified retrievers. Now they carry guns and my brother's oldest is bigger than me!
