Sell me a bed cover

I have the Undercover Elite One on my GMC 2500. I had one on my truck before this one for 3 years, and i have it for 8 years and never any problems. It has kept the contents secure and essentially dust free while on my trips out west. I would buy this again when/if I purchase another truck.

Had a basic roll up style one years ago, told myself my next one (which will never be) i would build a hard top out of pressure treated plywood maybe a truckbed liner type finish or marine carpet.

I put the ford branded soft tonneau cover on mine before it came home.

I tried an ARE custom built topper. Talk about a waste of money. Doesn’t say much for the F150 build quality when the bed is made with so many open joints all a topper does is show you how dusty things can get.

I have several friends that run various brands of tonneau covers. None seem to last and are frustrating to use. I have a topper. Certainly not the answer to everyone’s needs. However, when we are loading the trucks for a trip, Guess who packs and hauls most of the gear because,” You can stack more stuff in your cap”!!

Diamondback SE here and I love it. Easy to take off if you need to, whole thing or 1 panel.
I like a topper better but not at todays prices.

I have a cheaper soft trifold that I don’t always have on the pickup, but I use when I want to keep gear out of the snow. It works well and only takes about 10 minutes to throw on when I need it.

Nick, for the dough and ease if installment, the bakflip is sufficient. Had same model on past three trucks. Just make sure you double trash bag stuff you don't wanna get damp or a little dusty...hasn't been a problem really.

Regardless of what you go with for a make and model, I was skeptical when I put a tri-fold on my pickup after I bought it. Never had a topper or bed cover of any kind before. I honestly love having one now. It gets a little dusty on occasion, but its easy enough to open up and blow or wash it out. Keeps gear secure and out of sight (coolers, camping gear, etc). I was helping a friend side his house a couple weeks ago and a storm blew in fast. Folded up my miter saw, table saw, and grabbed my cordless stuff and threw it under the cover and it all stayed dry while the weather blew over. I've thrown a memory foam pad in the bed and slept under the cover in a sleeping bag while antelope hunting. Also ran an inverter generator under it (with the tailgate down to vent exhaust) in a rainstorm when I was plugged into my camper. Personally, I would spend about $800 to $1,000 on a decent hard tri-fold, then go spend $1,200 on a used 10-12ft utility trailer if you the space to keep one. Haul tools & gear under the bed cover and put lumber, rock, mowers, UTVs on the trailer. That's what I ended up doing and I've never cussed having the bed cover on because of the space it takes up. Either way, I doubt you ever regret having one regardless of the decision you make.
