Scout to find a field for Sunday.

Sunday was a day for a big group of guys to hunt together. Got permission on a field we had watched for a while.

Same routine as the morning before.

Yup the goose hunting out there is fantastic and it looks like you guys are getting it done. Now is the "good old days" of goose hunting.

We put 16 geese and 16 mallards into the sausage and smoker piles this weekend as well. Lot's of birds around.

Looks like you guys had a great weekend too.

You sure know how to slay geese. Do you have lots of landowners that you personally know or do you do a lot of scouting/knocking doors?

Awesome goose shoots! I miss those days. We used to slay them when I lived in Billings, over at Hysham. We knew all the landowners. They thought we were crazy laying out in those fields freezing. Man it was fun! Congrats!

Have you ever had a slow day with the ducks or geese? Very impressive!

Yes I have had many slow days and those make me appreciate the good days and love the great days.

We have found a pretty dedicate group of waterfowlers that hunt through thick and thin are willing to share the costs, spend the time scouting and all pitch in and clean birds. No slackers in the whole group. Makes it a very nice situation for us.

I have done a lot of hunting over the years and I force my self to hunt big game because my kid likes it and watching him is so much fun but when I am going bird I am up early and still look forward to it. I also find myself shooting less and less and doing more video and picture taking. Maybe I am just getting old.
