Spirit airlines is no longer an active business as of this morning.

I hope any of you affected find some relief with your canceled trips or employment.

17,000 workers with no job and thousands of booked flights cancelled without clear plans if refunds will be issued.

I had a coworker that returned from a trip to Florida with them last week and they lost hundreds of dollars on the return due to canceled flights and inability to rebook with them. Sounds like they were already planning a foot out the door.

I have a bad feeling that they are not the only small airline in trouble. There's a lot of businesses that have and are going to go under. I've already seen quite a few Mom and Pop gas stations go under. Sad but predictable and it ain't over.

If you watch the trucking industry it’s been happening for the last year. Quite a few major carriers closed the doors without warning.

The signs are everywhere but the Stock Market keeps climbing.

I've been watching the trucking industry since 1970 when I first got my class 1 license. After nearly 30 years of driving the US, Canada and Mexico I finally gave it up. Major carriers have been going under with regularity. Ringsby United, PIE, C&H out of Dallas just to name a few.

Trucking has been downsizing for a few years. I heard an industry report that the bottom of the trough has been reached. I’m getting similar reports from trucking businesses too.

I retired from a trucking company 4 years ago. Boss handed it over to two late 20 somethings (his daughter and son-in-law) who have gutted the company. If they make it another year they will surprise everyone who is outside looking in.

Fuel costs and lack of qualified drivers have caused many a carrier to close the door and walk away.

Are you still driving?

It's very interesting considering our president is a 'businessman' and is supposedly pro-business. Unfortunate indeed.

Which business is going to be the next one allowed to fail? Love to see it. If it's not sustainable it should go away.

I will await your disagreeable comments lol
Rumor mill says Frontier and Jet Blue are candidates. I know a couple JB pilots.

When you live way back in Hooterville Holler you can't expect much! 😉
At least we're not disappointed. It's been said we are about 100 years behind the times. Our new deputy has a list of people to call when he needs something. Help is an hour and a half away so they don't get out here very often.

Oh hell! I forgot about PGE. They really need to go away and come back as a real power company. Our 2020 fire took out most of the power grid to those that do have power. Today is ANOTHER full day shutdown while they patch it back together. We were down for about 6 weeks while they cobbled the system back together. Every year they shut us down multiple times to "improve the grid". Today will be the ninth or tenth full day shutdown this year.

6 minutes to no Internet. 2 hours to no cell phone.

Dear PG&E Customer,

We are writing to inform you that we’ve started your planned outage at DEL PUERTO CANYON RD,. The initial estimate is to have power on by May 04 05:00PM.

We understand that any electric service disruption is inconvenient and will do our best to limit the time you are without power.
