Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

This is all part of the DSA plan. Increase property taxes to the point you force middle income households out of their homes. Then force them into public housing. Slowly eliminate private property over time. Ensure the majority of citizens are dependent on the government for housing. With that voting majority, consolidate political control and seize private entities, the means of production being one.

Because we all know homeownership is white supremacy, right? Some much for affordability. Without a strong moderate figure in the DNC, this is the direction your major blue cities will move and with that your blue states.
Property tax calculations sound like a complete cluster in NYC.

new york city property tax rate

For the 2025/26 fiscal year in New York City, provisional property tax rates are set at 20.630% for Class 1 (1–3 family homes), 12.340% for Class 2 (other residential), and 11.114% for Class 3 (utilities), based on assessed value. These rates are retroactive to July 1, 2025, and are used for bills due in 2026.

NYC Property Tax Rates (FY 2025/26)
Class 1 (One- to three-family homes): 20.630%
Class 2 (Apartments, Condos, Co-ops): 12.340%
Class 3 (Utility properties): 11.114%
Class 4 (Commercial/Office): 11.833% (approximate, based on 86 basis point increase)
Key Considerations
Calculation Method: Tax is not calculated on the market value, but on the assessed value, which is generally
of the market value for Class 1 and
for Class 2.
Revaluation: Class 1 properties have capped assessment increases (
annually or
over 5 years), meaning the assessed value often lags behind market value.
Upcoming Changes: The FY 2027 Preliminary Budget (released Feb 2026) suggests a potential
tax rate increase for the following year to address budgetary needs.
Bills: Updated tax bills for 2025/26 were sent in November 2025, with payments due in January 2026.

It is NYC it is not surprising, and it is not a reaction to the other side. He promised everybody Doritos and Dr. Pepper. Sometimes people vote for stuff, and they need to get it and get it hard. I am actually glad that he won and, in a way, it is good to see what is happening there and in Virginia, individual laboratories of democracy, hopefully people in other states can view what happens when you don't vet your candidates and lack the gumption to get off your phone and go vote.

That is far from the truth, when it comes to Mayoral elections... But the state of the national Republican party is making it more and more true each day.
I don't know where you get your info. Here's mine for NY state. I guess you could think NYC is remarkably different. I doubt it, but I'll see what I can find.
