WSJ review of FY 2024 spending. The TLDR...none of the real fiscal problems was "fixed". Tariffs helped (as they now look to use the money to cut checks to soybean farmers and buy voters), Social program spending continues to go up, interest on debt continues to go up, and DOGE was pushing on a string.
just read that article.
kinda funny to me, like did anyone ACTUALLY believe that anything would fundamentally change for the better fiscally?

I think you would be surprised at the number of people who STILL believe the economy is better today than pre this shitshow. I would guess than the number is falling as corn/soybean farmers try to sell their crop.

Saw a news clip the other day.
Interview with a soybean farmer.
Said since the tariffs, now China isn't buying American soybeans, so they are getting elsewhere.
Farmers are putting up product in silos, because they can't sell it.
If this doesn't get fixed, we will not be able to compete with other countries and sell commodities.
Now the administration is talking about aide for farmers.
Thats farmer's quote was
"Trade, not aide."
The world is way to small to be isolationist in 2025.

You do realize the WSJ is owed by Rupert Murdoch, of Fox News?Hard to believe that some think Wall Street Journal is a reliable source. Not hard to believe that some here that have TDS so bad that everything from them is negative. On the plus side, both are curable.

I mean - as long as no one is willing to even discuss the major items - ss, medicare, medicaid and military (57% of spending) that will never change.
Who owns it doesn't matter to me. Fox News isn't a reliable source. It's what people have been telling us for years.

When they see the President in front of Military leadership calling them an enemy for disagreeing with him on basically anything, they can probably be forgiven for thinking things aren't great.
The WSJ article presented facts from the 2024 FY which ended Sept 30. There wasn't any spin or political tilt. It just highlights the source of the real problem- social programs. I guess SS will fix itself with payment cuts in 6-7 years, so we have that going for us.

In the day time, the man creates chaos unseen of an American President before, then at night sits on his fat ass watching the turmoil on Fox news and getting his jollies as the world burns and his supporters (such as the soybean farmers) get eFF'd. Trump is the greatest troll of all time Bar None and in some ways, it's poetic justice that the one's who've supported him are taking it in the shorts.
