Heater core went out again, this time it was leaking in the floorboard. Replaced the first time in December of 2020.

Better man than me, I’m DIY on almost everything but when the actuator for the vent selector went out on our f150 I just paid the mechanic… that is after building a defroster out of a sour cream container, duct tape, and some tubing to hunt that weekend!

Took my wife’s truck in last month for the same thing (leaking under floor mat). I do almost all of my own wrenching, and just about everything else, but I was HAPPY to let the shop do this one.

Asked the shop manager: “How many times have you asked yourself why the engineers couldn’t put a simple access panel in the firewall?”
Answer: “Every f-ing time in the past 40 years!”
