Yes, but I’m thinking in general terms. If the CO knows the information was obtained by a third party, in violation of state law, I would think rules of discovery would dictate that fact must be shared as exculpatory information.That answer may be Iowa law specific but most of the time it would be required to be disclosed unless the state argued that the disclosure would present a danger to the informant.
But it says the charges were dismissed it may or may not be disclosed in the civil case.
