Been hunting for just about 30 years. Big fat Zero on OIL. Closest would be a muzzleloader elk tag in ID I drew as a resident with 10 tags back in 2014. Only apply for OIL in WY now.

This goes back a bit farther than 10 years. All as a non resident of any western state.
Some hunts were drawn with max preference points.

Montana unit 410 Breaks Rifle Elk tag
Montana unit 313 Gardiner Late Rifle Elk hunt..Jan/Feb Yellowstone migration hunt.
Montana Elk Supertag.
Montana Breaks Bighorn Sheep Tag

AZ Early Rifle Elk tag unit 22
AZ Archery Elk Unit 27
AZ Archery Elk Unit 1
AZ Archery Elk Unit 8
AZ Archery Elk Unit 7W
AZ Archery Elk Unit 5BS
AZ Strip 13B Rifle Deer

Utah Henry Mountain Deer Any Weapon
Utah Early Rifle Elk Indian Peaks, now SW Desert

Colorado Unit 201 Archery Elk
Wyoming Moose
With this weeks draw results I have to add an Arizona Desert Sheep tag!!

I only apply for tags in my home state of Montana which doesn't have OIL tags, but with the draw system today, the tags may as well be once in your lifetime, or worse.

In the '70s and early '80s I drew a Montana sheep tag and two each Montana moose and goat tags. Since then, I've unsuccessfully applied 37 years for another Montana moose tag, 42 years for another sheep tag, and 47 years for another goat tag until this year, at 80 years old, I drew my final goat tag.

Years ago I drew a couple of Wyoming antelope tags, but they've raised their tag prices out of my price range. My resident Montana antelope tags cost $19 vs $326 or $1215 for Wyoming non-residents.
