Pike Pointers?

We’re kinda new to NW Colorado, and trying to figure out the fishing.
What are the best techniques for Pike?

I figure stick baits, spoons along weed edges? Anything specific to time of year?

I'm just starting to try and figure out pike myself. Sounds like spoons and spinner baits are the hot ticket.

Starting to spawn about now. Look for shallow ice free bays.

Pike are tougher to figure out then people give credit for and lots of time during the year big pike and little pike are almost different animals. Bigger pike in the summer especially go deep. If ice just came off they will be shallow looking to spawn or recover from spawning.

I feel I understand walleye way better then pike

You're on the right track thinking weed lines. Or shallow weed beds. As a kid we'd troll from point to point on small bays to catch that weed line. Pike are a constant moving predator. You may be surprised with the efficacy of an old school daredevil.
