A (still) pic taken from a black & white video I made 30+ plus yrs ago. This pr of coyotes used this same focal area numerous times. When the wind was from the NorWest. This pr of coyotes are from the West outer edge of my old hunt grounds. Coyotes are 1/2 mile away. Territorial coyotes. Have preferred bedding areas. When the wind is from a specific direction. I've seen that behavior repeated many times. From other territorial pairs. Both coyotes are on the down wind side of the hill. Wind at their backside, as per usual.
