First day of rifle deer here in Pa. Got out to where the wife and I hunt and could see a herd out in the one field with two pretty nice bucks. A quick sneak put us in range but my wife was not comfortable with taking a 300 yard shot so I was up. My first shot went high but the second one drilled him. As it turns out this was smaller of the two bucks, haven't seen the other one yet. Hoping becomes out so Kathy gets a shot. Not the biggest whitey but I'm quite happy with him. I was shooting my Ruger 300 Win mag with handloaded 165 grain Sierra Gamekings.

Thats a big Pa buck.Saw 31 doe and a fox wth my son today.I wasn't hunting, just pushing deer for him.He missed a small 6 point.Had to hunt my parents place in 5C as the deer hunting in my part of the state is terrible

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, tough to stay focused in the brutal weather! Pretty nice way to cap a very good year. Took a decent antelope buck and a doe in Wyoming and 'guide' my wife for her first western big game animal-a big lope doe. Hunted West Virginia for the first time and took two does and passed up a couple small bucks. With freezer busting at the seams I was able to give a doe to a friend whose had some health issues and can't hunt this year. We still have a bunch of doe tags so may drop a couple more for the food bank. I'll take a day of two for small game then go full bore on coyotes.
