This is my wife's antelope from this year. After collecting points for 15 years she was able to draw one of the better units in S.E Oregon. She wanted a good buck but mostly just a good hunt. Spot and stalk without any other hunters around. She passed several small bucks the first few days. I glassed her buck up late one evening and we tried for him the next morning. Hiked up a pretty steep ridge for 2 1/2 hours before she located him bedded with 10 does in a dirt patch. Then it was a 1 1/2 hour stalk to get into a shooting position. She made a 150 yard 1 shot kill, frontal heart shot. She used a Rem 788 in .243. Her hunt turned out to be all she had hoped for and more. The icing on the cake is that he makes it into the Oregon record book. She's as happy as if he was the new B.C. #1.
