Opening Morning bird

Pretty windy this morning but was still able to get on some birds. This guy strayed from his lady friend to see what the "new girl" looked like. Unfortunately for him this hen was actually a dude in camo holding a 12 gauge

Well my buddy was supposed to bring the tripod and a video camera this morning but when I got to the meeting spot I found out that he was still in bed and wasn't coming. Do you not like the close self portraits?

Good job! I had a horny tom run a half mile for a nice morning piece and he also met a 12 gage at 5:40 am openning day in unit 1. I will post a pic tomorrow. He was decent with an 8.5" beard.

Hunter's doing good, he graduates high school next month and is heading up to NAU next Fall. After he killed his second antlerless elk last year he decided that he really wanted a crack at a bull....so that little punk ended up drawing my archery bull tag! Gonna have to pull him away from the parties for a couple of weekends in September to see if he can keep his elk streak alive. Need him to start shooting his bow a little more often though.

Arizona and hunted unit 1. Buddy and I both got our birds opening day. They seemed real horny this year. Lots of road hunters again.
