I'm not familiar with the property in Sled, but I expect the only solution is to pay $400-700 for access like folks do for the Weyerhauser on the west side.

I drive on the county roads, FS roads, and state highways, getting to most of the NF isn't an issue. For the Breaks, you'll need to float the river.

I got the call to action on this via the Oregon BHA chapter email last week on Thursday or so. It took just a few minutes to fill out and send a note to my representatives (it automatically identifies your reps using your zipcode). Hopefully everyone else can do the same, it would be great to get this issue clarified so we can make fully use of all of our public lands in OR including the checkerboards.
 
UPDATE: Senate Bill 1545 died following its latest work session. Oregon Senate Republican Office Communications Director Ashley Kuenzi said Tuesday morning the bill’s sponsors are now focused on “building greater clarity and consensus ahead of the 2027 session.”
