October 14 2023 Annular Solar eclipse

I've been looking forward to it for quite some time. Was thinking about going fishing that day to see how the fish bite during an eclipse. The weather forecast isn't looking so good now though.

San Antonio had totality for about 4 minutes. I couldn’t get a direct photo but here’s the “ring of fire” with the ol’ pinhole trick.

Best I could do on the iPhone. Pretty good coverage here in Western MT. Clouds were there initially but cooperated for the show. Glad I made a point to get out and stare at the sun. Weather is now perfect and I’m cold kicking it, relaxing on a ridge with the dog. Life sure is alright today.

Full eclipse for several minutes in Central Nevada. Pretty neat, 15 years before we'll see it again. No good photos due to cloud cover.

My dumbass was remarking on how dark out it seemed to be. Didn’t even realize what was going on

I was lucky enough to watch it from a mountain peak during this morning's elk hunt. Can't complain about that.

No elk...

We went 15 minutes north to my parents to get into the path of totality. Pretty neat.
