Exactly, one of my employees has spent thousands of dollars and years doing it the right way to get his wife and kids here from Africa. I’m sure he would have loved the free hotel rooms, debit cards, and other support through the process but he is now a us citizen after immigrating as a child and said he values his citizenship and the country to much to take the short cut and not do it the proper way.

Altruism is not a legitimate argument, but I’ve never heard anyone serious make it. The country definitely benefits. I’m not sure Beck’s view that immigration should be stopped to help those poor from other countries carries much weight either. We shipped production to those places and the same group is mad about that.

We need a better system to recognize the good guys from the bad guys in order to continue legal sensible immigration and to reject the worst ones, many of whom are the drug mules.
My point is that this country has the resources to take care of those and many more needs. It will take getting the greedy ones out of politics and electing representatives truly for the people!

Its not just oversimplified, its wrong...assuming you are defining "illegals," as ICE has been anyone who is not yet s US citizen yet.

They are taking into custody US citizens and many more "immigrants" that have the legal right to be here.
Regarding actual deporting, that requires a place that will take them...and problems with that have many reporting packed detention centers and huge issues with lack of humane treatment at detention locations.
Clearly the administration was nowhere near prepared for its surge...or perhaps humane treatment is of no concern to them. The latter seems plausible when they continue to deny first hand reports of maltreatment. In an earlier thread someone even mentioned sexual assaults occurring in detention centers.
Ha. If you say so. This country can't even solve or take care of issues of the citizens that live here. But you think we have the resources to take care of immigrants? mtmuley

Yes, you have captured my point. We are failing to take care of current needs. Yes, I do think this nation has the financial and human resources to take care of a multitude of needs, but currently inept politicians, leaders, federal financial managers (Congress), inefficient systems and programs, and greedy folks with power are impeding, blocking, and purposely perpetrating failures for their own personal or political benefit ... not for the people.

We are not just deporting illegals and its not a surprise. An agent can get a bonus for big numbers
The reason we should not have deportation quantity bonuses for agents is in the history books.
The US government used to pay for Indian scalps. At times it was hard to kill Indians so the scalpers would also invite people with long dark hair to come along. The long dark haired people would often not make the journey.
We stopped paying for scalps not because it was wrong but in large part we stoped because we were scalping the wrong people.
