Non-Obvious stuff

While I may not agree with Cushman on his selection of footwear, I would highly recommend a comfy pair of slip on shoes to wear around camp. It's amazing how good a pair of Crocs will feel after wearing your hunting boots for 12-14 hours.
This is one of funniest, most useful posts I've seen in a while. I'm taking notes!

I throw chewable pepto tablets, a few tums, and advil into a pill bottle in my emergency kit. If you overdo it and feel like puking the pepto tablets help get you back on your feet. I also have a tiny knife that has scissors on it and an extra light source because changing flashlight batteries in the dark is very difficult, specially when you can't find the one you dropped into the prickly pears....
