No more brick and mortar license sales?

I for one like the fact we can pay online witha CC .It’s just a lot of questions but overall I like it . I remember the days of collecting $ from the people in our group some years 3 some years 7 and then going to the post office and getting seperate cashiers checks for each and seperate envelopes with seperate paper work for everyone as I have always been the group organizer . What a pain in the ass that was . This way is much much easier

lol I’ll say it: the E-tags are pretty stinking nice! No more messing with stupid sheets of paper and ziplocs to tag a critter! And I know I paid for replacement tags (lost) more than 1 year before I went to E-tags. So I like having it all on my phone..
Having said that, I’ll agree that the system could be more streamlined and yes the credit card fee is dumb.. and I think paper tags should always be available to those that prefer them.
This is going to be the first year for me and E tags . I decided to give it a go . Hope it works ok

The native tags are wayyyyyy easier.

I’ve been trying to stay off Facebook but it’s worth it to read the comments on the change.

Retailers need to update to a new system to remain in the program. Many are choosing not to due to the costs involved.

If Montana’s license system is like Iowa retailers make very little off of license sales for being a vendor. Like $.25 a transaction.

Looking forward to once again check the boxes I want, purchase with a CC and download them to my phone. Probably take me about 10 minutes again this year.

Glad you like it. I wanted tags in hand walking out the door. I don't want or need more shit on my phone. Plus I don't carry it everywhere. mtmuley

I wasn’t sure if I’d like the E-Tags the first year I tried them. I’m really liking them now. My phone is part of my hunting kit now with maps, pics, and license.

I can understand not wanting to use ETags if you don’t want to carry your phone while hunting

The local sporting goods store is still printing licenses. FWP took their kiosk. Now they just log into your account for you and make the purchase and print them.

I’m old school and want a paper tag, as well. I have printed them off at home before and half the time it doesn’t work and I end up at the FWP office in Bozeman getting a copy. I want less shit on my phone, not more. I’ve been threatening to go back to a flip phone for a while now.

Don’t forget your flat brim.

It seems they don’t get any commission, but are allowed to charge a nominal fee in addition to the license/tag price. I really think it’s more about getting people into the store than making money on the license sales.

Because I like it simple I march in to Region 3 headquarters.
"Gimme what I had last year". Two years ago I requested the same and they still botched it.
I like tags in hand...but hate the cheap azz plain paper.
All that said, I still had to buy a fishing license online this morning....im capable but it still was annoying.
Old school.🤷‍♂️

Buddies dad use to have a gas station/convenience store he always said only reason he sold gas was to get people to stop and go in the store.
