I had mentioned on a podcast that a person had approached me about using a bot to illustrate how easy it is to get tags on the CPW reissue list. He had proven the same on the website mentioned in the article linked below.
He said he was as able to get any float permit he wanted, even when odds were less than 1%. He did it to prove a point. The problem at Recreation.gov still hasn’t been fixed.
He told me the same is happening at CPW with the reissue list and offered to do the same thing for me on the CPW site to prove his point. I’ve not taken him up on his offer, but I’ve thought about doing it, screen capturing it, not to scam a tag but to show that is can be done and is likely being done each year, the same as is happening at Recreation.gov.
Anyhow, found this article interesting. A known problem that goes unresolved.
