It seemed really slow today, didn't get a to the add to cart screen per usual.Missed out on the leftover list today cause of work. Can’t believe there was another one of those early rifle elk tags on the list. Damn!

Here is what I found copied below in case this link doesn't work. https://cpw.state.co.us/sites/default/files/dam/xpj1vx0mkp/websitefinaldrawchanges.pdfIs there a doc somewhere on the CPW website that outlines how the reissues will work when the application structure changes in 2028?
I was reading that right when I saw your post and thinking the same.Guaranteed that there will be complaints about the next system too. Only difference, then it will be the people auto-issued a tag that burns their points without enough warning to talk to their [whoever they need to clear it with] before they go.
as @Oak has said to me on related topics:It should be a random draw every week for the reissued tags. List comes out Tuesday at 11am with the tags available, application is open for a few hours and the draw occurs Wednesday morning. Yeah, it would be a pain from a tech side for CPW but it would save me from pressing the buy now button a million times at 11am for a tag I’m never gonna get.
No shit... You're telling me those of us brought up learning how Computers work and have warned again and again and again about, "Random isn't random." For a decade WERE RIGHT!Yup. But first you have to admit it might be happening.
It could fund itself: to enter this week's random drawing, $5 surcharge. Try again next week, $5 surcharge. Rinse, repeat. Colorado lottery, but for big game tags.I was reading that right when I saw your post and thinking the same.
This is all pretty ridiculous (and yes, I've gotten tags off the list before so part of the problem). No returns or refunds outside of the exemptions that already exist. Bios could build in some % of breakage to their tag number recommendations to account for it.
Plus, with points moving to 'Bonus' points in 2028, the relative 'value' of a point goes down.
as @Oak has said to me on related topics:
“Stay Golden, Pony Boy”
Seriously - this is the way - but CPW/State gov technology is just not built for it. Not really even close. I equate it to my current client that has homegrown their business systems over 40 years and is now leaping from the Flintstones to Star Wars.
That model is not impossible, but you can see impossible from here.

I’d budget for it$50 for nonresidents to enter the weekly drawing![]()
In 2016 I had an S73 sheep tag. I tore my calf mussel in my leg the first day of the hunt so my hunt was over. I got a trophy sheep tag to frame for my money and years of applying. What constitutes as a "Medical reason?" Are folks going into the doctor with a sniffle and getting them to write a note saying "Jimbob is excused from his goat hunt. signed Dr. Brown"
Oof that’s disappointing. I feel like that sort of thing should be excused in a way.In 2016 I had an S73 sheep tag. I tore my calf mussel in my leg the first day of the hunt so my hunt was over. I got a trophy sheep tag to frame for my money and years of applying.
