Best one yet...

Went out to Sonoma County for a long weekend of abalone diving, good food, good drink, and great friends.., Awesome conditions, no kelp, clear water, flat and with little surge. Spent some time in the water looking for a deep shell, worked 8-30 feet on reefs and walls where you can't get into with any waves, either that, or would just get killed. Made about 24 dives, Abalone everywhere, but nothing huge with lots of sea urchins around. Abalone hate sea urchins. So do I, I have about 8 spines stuck in me right now. They're barbed, probably won't get them out until they calcify, which can take some time..

Brought home a couple for the family (live and whole, sorry TSA), steaks, sashimi and burgers for dinner last night and one had a real nice shell, 9" with no worm holes, and a nice gift from the sea.. While it's not the biggest shell I have, it's the nicest pearl I've found. Might get a necklace made up with this one.

Even though I had to put that little finger back together with superglue after a slicing mishap, Life sure ain't sucking.

Interesting. Post more pictures if you can. Nice to see some cool things like that to do on a VAC.

Not great picture weather, grey and overcast.. But it wasn't smokey!
