I thought I would try to learn how to post pictures using my Farm in the small town of Bates, Arkansas.
Here is the View as you come though the Front Gate.

You drive past the Barn and working pens along with a Pond.

The Mountain you see in the Background is Poteau Mountain, the 5th highest point in Arkansas. You can turn out of my drive and go for 28 miles though the Quachita National Forest on what is called The Poteau Rustic Auto Tour.
Here is a view from the top.

As you drive along the edge of the Middle pasture you turn and cross a Creek where the Cabin is. The Pictures of the Cabin are a little old as we have done quite a bit to it.

Here is the view from the Front Porch looking across the Horse pasture, it's real neat to sit out there with a Beverage and watch the storms roll across the valley.

Here is a couple of shots of the interior before we bought it. Lord has the wife remodeled this! LOL
This is the Kitchen, it is now a totally different color.

Here we have the Dining area

When we were talking to the Original owner he was talking about a Lake up in the National Forest that had pretty good Bass Fishing. It is above the Cabin about 5 Miles though the Mountain roads, even has a nice concrete ramp.
Here is a view of it from a Jeep trail above the Lake. The water level was low from the NF doing some work on it.

I kinda messed with the wife on a trip up to the Farm one trip as I stopped off and bought this to run around the Mountains with. Pay backs are gonna be Bad!

This is what I bought to fish it, works great!

I have had some really nice Fishing days on the Little Lake, around 40 Bass on one trip up to 8 pounds. One evening my buddy Wes and I caught (2) 6 1/2 pounders and a 7 1/2 pounder in 15 minutes on Black Buzz Baits!
Me and a couple of Bass.

We have really enjoyed our place, the people are real nice and they hold Pie Suppers where you bid on pies and they will have a Band for everyone to listen to at the Old Bates School that they are working to turn into a Community Center. The Mountains are fun to run around in as there are Ponds and Rivers scattered all around to fish in. We see lots of Deer, Turkeys and I have seen one nice Black Bear! One of the neat aspects of where I am is that there are 2 Wilderness Areas on the Mountain, so it's just Foot or Mule to get back in there. Hope ya'll enjoy! John:D

Small World DraftStud! A very good friend of mine is from Greenwood and they have a small farm in Waldron. May be headed up that way in April to Turkey hunt.

John, where does the pavement end? I'm rolling that way on the first 50 degree weekend.

I'm just glad you learned how to post photos! ;)

Dink, your spread is twice the size of mine... :(

It is a small world, My neice and her Husband live in McKinney. I hope to get the guy I leased part of my place to run cows to take me Turkey Hunting as I have never tried it. John

Draftstud,

That is a beautiful place. I can see where it would be very relaxing. Enjoy it!

Beautiful looking place, sounds like it's perfectly located to be enjoyed.

It is hard to beat good bass fishin!

Very nice Draftstud! Thanks for sharing.

Nice place Draftstud! Thanks for sharing the pics. Any bear hunting opportunities for you there? Im sure the turkey are nearly as thick as the ticks... :) Is Bates just south of Ft. Smith?

Bates is 48 Miles from where I turn west just outside of Waldron. They have quite a few Bears up there and east in LeFlore County, OK they are even having a season. The fellow who runs cows on my place tells me of Big flocks of Turkey and I have seen quite a few.
We were so busy remodeling and such that I can't wait to carry my Mules and Horses up there for some serious scouting. John
