Multiple wolf attacks near Aspen over Memorial Day weekend

CPW dropping the ball?! Who would've thought that wolves would kill calves.

Too bad they didn't call Montana, Idaho, or Wyoming to get their input on wolves
Yep. The arrogance of the urban progressive Denver/Boulderites that rule the state is incalculable. I don’t blame the CPW officers, likely a gag order pushed down from Governor’s office and followed up by Director Dan Gibbs.

Another wolf dies in addition to the one killed by CPW. Apparently the one killed by CPW was a pup from last year. The article mentions more translocations are in the works. The articles also mentions CPW is monitoring 4 potential den sites.

This state is now, officially, a case of the inmates running the asylum. Did you all get that they moved administration of gun store licensing to the Department of Revenue a few weeks ago? Because the vast majority of counties in the state refuse to enforce some of the more ridiculous firearms regs (ie Mag limits), now the state will just use DoR to pull their firearms retailer license if they don't like how they act.

Wonder if the wolf actually got removed, Years ago mini horses were killed in my area by a pack, fish and game "removed" the whole pack. However three moths later out with my wife in the exact same area, saw 6 wolves. (Must of been ghosts)

Welcome to Calirado! My move out of this state is now sub 12 months, and counting.

I think we all likely knew the pro-wolf activists were leveraging their influence in the Governor’s office to put pressure on CPW. With the recent appointment of Dr. John Emerick to the CPW Commission, they will have a full blown professional wolf activist directly governing CPW. Emerick and his spouse, Delia Malone, lead Colorado Wild, one of the primary pro-wolf advocacy groups.

Saw that article last week. You always suspect such things are going on. Pretty rare that you get cold hard proof that it is

Are you surprised that there are still deer after hunting season? Probably just moved in since the previous wolves were taken out

Anyone else hope they make a movie about this someday? The mismanagement of the Copper Creek pack alone is just impressive

Gah what a mess. Is the CPW Director appointed by the Gov.? Are they at-will employees? Very much seems like CPW leadership is being pressured to minimize wolf incidents on livestock...

Wonder what CO has spent on "preventing" wolf predation on livestock. CA DFW spent $150,000 of our funds, meant for all wildlife conservation, on hazing wolves in just 2 months. It's not going to stop them from feeding on livestock once they learn the habit.
