Just thought I would share my Montana muley with you all. I shot this buck last Saturday. The rut hadn't completely kicked in yet in my area as he was hanging with 3 other smaller bucks. I glassed them up about a mile away, and knew that he was a decent buck. The race was on to catch them before they hit their bedding area because I knew I would never find them in that jungle. Fortunately I was able to get to a high ridge as they were single filing over a small knife ridge into the bedding area. My buck was the last one over and stopped perfectly broadside just long enough for me to send a 165gr copper pill his way. The hit was solid, but he just stood there, so I let another one fly and dropped him right there. He definitely isn't the biggest buck, but he is my biggest buck and I was happy to take him.

Nice Buck... Congrats:cool::cool: Like you said, he ain't the biggest, but he's your biggest... That's all I try for every year, is to best mine from the years before...

Thanks everyone!

Summit, the rifle is actually just a Remington 700 SPS in .300wsm. The rifle shot extremely well when I bought it, so all I have done to it is added an HS Precision sporter stock and a muzzle brake. It is topped with a Leupold VX3 4.5-14 CDS. It shoots .75 inch 5 shot groups using Barnes factory ammo. I'll probably put a trigger in it down the road, but it already shoots better than I can. I shot this buck at 491 yards, and have taken a cow elk at 530, and last years bull at 450. It's a shooter.
