Well, it appears that Congress has got things moving in high gear. The Great Lakes states had been notified to expect a new delisting ruling for their wolves by the end of the year.

Looks like Christmas came early for my home boys. Link provided.

Will be interesting to see if the wolf nuts dig in on this one and fight it, or if they learned their lesson on the western wolf deal. All the scribing in the Montana rags is how Congress acting on wolves is "a gutting of the ESA," or "the end of life as we know it," or "Wolves are now desitined for extinction."

If it is such a supposed disasted, you think they would exercise a little caution this go round.

You Midwest guys might want to be on your Senators to let them know that if the wolf nuts screw around like they did out west, that you want those Senators to do the same thing as happened last week.

Will be interesting, for sure.

As I understood it, the last delisting rule was challenged just on NEPA violations regarding proper notice.

This rule should stick. If not, then folks need to be ready to open the fire hose back up. I'd personally hate to see another delisting rule congressionally issued, so I am hopeful that the serial litigants can come up with a solution before the fire hose is hooked back up.

This will be a good test, to see how much resolve the "serial litigants" have in keeping the wolf listed. This will also be a good indicator of how their going to continue their fights. It would be nice to see cooler heads prevailing on these issues. Each side has extremists, and they need to be put in their places.

Sure would be nice for my hunting buddies that go grouse hunting to have have a wolf tag as well :)
