Anyone hunted wtih Mills Wilderness adventures? They have awesome references. I have booked a hunt with them and had a few questions for past customers.

You do realize this website is dedicated to the none guided hunter, right? Hence the name "On your own adventures".

Nemont

A friend of my cousins girlfriend said his boss told him that they had two clients freeze to death on the mountain last winter. They couldn't get the poor guys body's down till this spring.
All of their stock is either sway backed nags,or shetland ponies. All the guides drink and play cards till the Sun comes up. The cooks only equipment was a rusty can opener.
But they come ''highly recommended''.

I hope discussion of guided hunts is not restricted on this website. I know that many people have posted photos and stories from guided hunts in the past. Heck, didn't Nemont even post photos from a guided bird hunt in Canada?

I know nothing about the outfitter in question. I do find it curious that the outfitter has "awesome references", but you haven't talked to any past hunters? In my opinion, direct conversation with past hunters would really be the only thing that would constitute "awesome references."

Oak,
I sure did post pics. I didn't come on a dedicated On your own adventure site and ask for references on guides.

I didn't say the guy is bad for wanting an outfitted hunt. I have no issue with outfitters or hunters who use them, just stating there may be better place to ask then a website for OYO.

I see your point. I guess your first reply sounded more like "GTFO" rather than, "you might have better luck somewhere else." Assholism seems to be rampant around here lately. I mistook your reply as more of the same. :)

I plan on using an outfitter on my moose hunt I'm planning for 2014, but I'll be in Canada. I'm going to post the hell out of pics of it...lol

I also go with some friends to a ranch in Oklahoma a couple times a year to hunt hogs...we have a great time

I appreciate the replies...

Oak I did contact the references they gave me as well as a person I met on the forum. Everyone even the unsuccessful had great things to say about them. THanks for sticking up for me. Nemon Im sorry your bitter. They make pills for that.... They are Blue and diamond shaped:hump:!

More agreement here and would add provincialism and elitism as well. Though much of the content on this forum is about DIY hunts, and always has been, IMO the OYOA way is the only way is getting a bit overbearing. Likewise, look at how folks were greeted even a year or so ago to now. The "welcoming committee" crap of late is well...crap.

miller- if I reference a buck as being an 8 pointer would that help you? How about Candadian goose? :D ;)

I wouldn't know about those kind of pills but I guess your first hand knowledge of them is valuable.

Can you show me where I was "bitter".?

Also it is Nemont not Nemon and the contraction for "you are" is you're not your.

Is that assholistic enough Oak?

Nemont, What is the deal? Did you not get your bedtime story? I was approached on this website and asked about the Outfitter that I was going hunting with. I figured if one person on this site had used the outfitter and had good things to say, Maybe someone else could provide some insight. I honestly thought that this forum was for people who enjoy hunting Western big game? So sorry to have pissed off the the Forum Police. By the way GFY!
