I have seen some videos of soft mount wolves that looked interesting.

That bottom mount is absolutely choicePhenomenal, thank you!

That is awesome. Thanks for sharing.Should have updated this thread a long time ago, but I picked up my Wolf rug from John Hayes in Libby, MT this last Spring! He did an unbelievable job. Some notes - this was an exceptionally large (for the northern U.S. Rockies) and healthy three year old male. He was 100lbs whole. John told me it was one of the best quality wolf hides they have ever had in the shop! Also, the white is so incredible in person - shows how dirty these animals are and what a job a good tannery does. The size is unbelievable. Bigger than at least one of my bear hides, and I haven't shot any small bears!
*the guy holding the folded rug is John Hayes from Hayes Taxidermy, not me. Highly recommend his services in Libby!View attachment 389201View attachment 389202View attachment 389203View attachment 389204View attachment 389205View attachment 389206
No - I’ll have to look up how to do that and report back. I know the taxi guys loved how prominent his shark fin is.nice looking wolf any chance you have a score/measurement on the skull, gives another perspective to size vrs weight.
calipers are the easiest or 2 framing squares. No - I’ll have to look up how to do that and report back. I know the taxi guys loved how prominent his shark fin is.
I don’t know if you kept the coyote skull, but I find a wolf skull to be particularly impressive with a coyote skull next to it. The wolf skull is quite a bit more stout and has a more pronounced shark fin (sagittal crest) which serves as the anchor for jaw muscles. So a larger sagittal crest = stronger jawsNo - I’ll have to look up how to do that and report back. I know the taxi guys loved how prominent his shark fin is.
Similar situation with a mt lion and bobcat skull.I don’t know if you kept the coyote skull, but I find a wolf skull to be particularly impressive with a coyote skull next to it.
