Well went out for one last try to find "the spot" scouting trip before the season opener tomorrow. It started off kind of on the same note as all my other spots, enough sign to hunt but not enough to get excited about and have me eager to be in one particular area. 1st trail cam 0 pics in 2 weeks...WTH...so I make my way through this giant meadow and slowly start to see fresher and fresher sign...finally hit a spot where I get a little blood flowing and walk about 100 yards further and find this dead bull laying in the meadow...not cool at all...so after haul his stinky a... head a couple miles out to the truck I headed over to another spot only to suddenly have cell phone service about 20 yards from cresting a ridge overlooking another meadow where I have a few trail cam pics of some smaller bulls...Tell the wifey that of course Im not on my way home yet crest the ridge and wouldn't you know it the 3 small bulls standing there looking at me...They didn't spook off too bad so I went in snatched my trail cam and headed back out...Got home to find there is a much nicer bull hangin in the area now...nice maybe I can get lucky but any of them give me a shot and they will become my 1st!
