It's Iranian state television getting smoked. Most Iranians are cheering this.![]()
Israel strikes Iranian state TV, warns people to evacuate Tehran after accusing Iran of targeting civilians
Israel attacked Iranian state television after Iran fired another wave of missiles at Israel on the fourth day of open warfare between the regional foes.www.cbsnews.com
IDK...
I too have spent a lot of time in the Middle East, over a year of my life. The very last word I would use to describe any of it would be “beautiful”. Every part I went to I would consider a shit hole on the grandest scale, even that is giving it more credit than is due.
Well of course, civilians in any country don't want WAR. Russian and Ukraine civilians don't want it either. Russian would like to see P....go away. IMOIt's Iranian state television getting smoked. Most Iranians are cheering this.
Russian economy is a dumpster fire.

Russian economy faces collapsing oil profits, non-viable refineries
Oil and gas profits have slumped and national debt has grown according to Russia's statistics agency.www.newsweek.com
The thought is Iran wants to buy time on nuclear program. They were weeks from final enrichment. If that is the reason for Israel to strike, it will take time to determine how effective it was. Crazy. So many unknowns. I don't see a quick end to this. If they start talking, oil falls back to $65. If Israel wants to cripple the Iranian economy and hits Kharg, oil goes to $100 and the "what are you paying for gas" thread lights up again. Place your bets.Market thinks this little dust up will be resolved quickly.

Clearly that's the goal, but there is just no way to confirm its status. As was pointed out, the US considered attacks on the enrichment facilities with "bunker busters" years ago, but even then there was no clear agreement that it would work. You need regime change...again.Netanyahu reiterated earlier today that he is not interested in ceasefire; he is interested in the elimination of the nuclear program.
Also, can we call the Geneva Convention officially dead?
Off the top of my head…Kuwait City, Beruit, Djibouti, Doha, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Baghdad, Al Asad, Bagram, and some dump in Jordan I was at for a few hours and can’t remember the name of.Where in the Middle East? I've spent time in war torn poop-holes as well as beautiful peaceful countries. You can't just judge the Middle East based on some of its worst areas.
Otherwise the USA is nothing but a meth infested swamp and Canada is one massive trailer park.
I found beauty even in the worst shythole possible, Panjwai, where dudes in sandals were trying to kill us daily.
This.Older HTers - how long have you heard Iran is on the cusp of nukes?
Not to say that i think its impossible - but it seems like they have been "very close" as long as ive followed it (last 5 or so years).
Im a natural skeptic, but thats been only enhanced by the fact that the last middle eastern country with "weapons of mass destruction" .... didnt seem to have them.
All that i hope is that this doesnt involve the USA and our troops.
Seems to me this is about the time the countries with oil had developed the ability to exchange it for money, and demanded to be in charge of the oil (eg nationalize or sell rights to oil pumpers/sellers) which really took off after WWII, yes? There was a period when they weren't a problem. It lasted from about the beginning of the industrial revolution to after WWII. A return to those conditions is theoretically possible, but unlikely.
