If a guy wanted to retire in Wyoming what towns should he look at?

I spent some time in Worland and Ten Sleep. I did enjoy it, the drive in and out to the highway was very nice. Kind a nice place to visit, may not a place to live.

I just kept thinking how in the middle of nowhere we were to get anywhere. I would have to think cost of living would be high, just from the associated freight charges on everything.

I lived in Buffalo for 7 years, LOVED every second of it. Quiet town, great people, everything you need in one place, except possibly affirdable housing. Bighorns out my back door, rolling sagebrush out my front door. Glad to answer any questions. Moved back to NH couldnt fight the famiky oull and aging not healthy fathers

Ranchester/Dayton area just outside Sheridan would be my go to. But the more me and the wife think about it I doubt my southern butt is retiring in Wyoming. I already don't like the cold and doubt I'll grow fond in my old age.

Family from TenSleep and Worland and where a part of my heart resides.

If you’ve never lived somewhere where everyone has an ice chest in their trunk or back of their pickup, to get cold groceries home after driving “to town”, then lots of little Wyoming towns will come with culture shock.

TenSleep realty has been crazy expensive. And I’d predict it will not slow down.

Just kicking around some ideas of starting to look at where to retire at. I have 3 years before I can go but I will probably work another 8. But I want to start narrowing down where we want to go. My wife really likes to fish so that is high on our list. I do enjoy hunting but trapping is my favorite outdoor activity. So we are trying to get some ideas and give us an excuse to come out and check some places out. Thanks for any towns to check out.
Nobody gonna mention baggs?

Casper is a good bet to check all boxes, especially if you don't want to be isolated to trout fishing. There's much prettier places, and less wind, but hard to beat the central location of Casper.

What happened to everyone flocking to Florida?!
